Follow below steps to appropriately use Auto Data Recovery-
1. Quit ‘QuickBooks’.
2. Make a new folder named ‘QBTest’ on the desktop.
3. Go to the folder in which company files are located.
4. Find folder titled ‘QuickBooksAutoDataRecovery’.
5. Look for a file with extensions ‘.QBW.adr’ and ‘.TLG.adr’.
6. Right-click on the file and choose ‘Copy’.
7. Return to QBTest folder and paste files.
8. Rename each of the files by removing ‘.adr’ from the rest of the name.
9. The name should look something like – ‘[company_file].QBW’ and ‘[company_file].TLG’
12. Run QuickBooks.
