When I faced QuickBooks Error PS077, I immediately contacted a pro-advisor. They suggested that I should rename the CPS Folder under Intuit QuickBooks to resolve the same. This is how-
Hold the Windows key + E on your keyboard to open the Windows File Explorer.
Click on the This PC tab.
Navigate to the C: Drive and then to the Program Files folder.
Here, you need to go to the Intuit folder and then QuickBooks.
Click on Components.
Press the Payroll option.
Hover over the CPS folder and click on it.
Choose to Rename. Add OLD to the name so that it looks like CPSOLD.
Now go back to QuickBooks Desktop.
Download and install the recent payroll tax table.
